The short answer
Install the Dlubal Connector on the Windows computer running RFEM 6, pair it with your CALC account and enter your Dlubal API key in the CALC settings. Open RFEM 6. Then open the cube icon below the chat input, check that RFEM is connected and enable RFEM access in this chat.
What you need
- RFEM 6 and the Dlubal Connector on the same Windows computer.
- A signed-in CALC account and your Dlubal API key for RFEM access.
Initial setup: connect CALC and RFEM
Start here if the connection has not been set up yet. You do not need to pair a working connection again.
Install and start the Connector
Open the RFEM cube icon below the chat input in CALC. If the Connector is missing, use the download offered there and install it on the computer running RFEM 6. Start the Connector.
Pair with your CALC account
Use the connection or pairing action offered in the RFEM menu and confirm the request in the Connector’s Windows dialog. The Connector must already be running.
Enter your Dlubal API key
Open the connection settings from the RFEM menu. Enter your Dlubal API key in the CALC settings if it is missing. If the key is rejected, contact Dlubal support to have it checked.
Open RFEM 6
Start RFEM 6 on the same computer. Open your existing model there if you want to work with it. Wait for any initial installation to finish and respond to open RFEM dialogs.
Check the connection and allow access
Check that the actual RFEM status is Connected. Then enable RFEM access in this chat. The following three steps and the video explain this check.

Is CALC connected to RFEM? Check three things: the icon, the status and access in your chat. Open the cube icon below the chat input. It opens the RFEM connection overview, with status and settings in one place. Green and Connected mean the connection is ready. The versions appear together at the top. Pairing and API key notices appear only when something is missing. Next, check access in your chat. Enable RFEM access for this chat if the switch is off. Connection and chat access are separate. Open the RFEM icon
Click the cube icon below the chat input. The connection overview shows versions, status, chat access, connection details and settings. The FAQ entry takes you back to this guide at any time.
Check the status
Look for the RFEM status Connected. A running Connector, confirmed pairing or a saved API key alone does not prove working RFEM access. Follow the menu notice if a requirement is missing. Version numbers may differ from the examples.
Enable RFEM access
Enable RFEM access in this chat if the switch is off. This allows CALC to use RFEM in the current chat. An existing connection does not enable this permission by itself.
If something is still missing
Open the connection settings from the RFEM menu and check the reported reason. Choose the matching case below.
Connector missing or unreachable
Use the offered action to install or start the Connector on the RFEM computer. If it is already running and the browser blocks local access, check the local network access permission for CALC in the website settings, then reload the page.
Pairing missing
Use the pairing action in the RFEM menu and confirm the Windows dialog. An already authenticated cloud relay connection does not need additional local browser pairing.
API key missing or rejected
Enter your Dlubal API key in the CALC settings. If it is rejected, contact Dlubal support; restarting does not resolve a problem with your account’s key.
RFEM closed or blocked by a dialog
Open RFEM 6 on the Connector computer and respond to open dialogs directly in RFEM. Then wait for the status to be checked again.
Setup running or connection still unconfirmed
Wait for an ongoing installation to finish. If the problem persists, use the RFEM connection repair action if offered. Repair starts only after your approval. Check ongoing operations before restarting and do not force processes to stop.
Connected but unavailable in the chat
Check the RFEM access switch for the current chat. Connection and chat access are separate settings.
RFEM connected and access enabled?
You can now use RFEM in your CALC chat.
