The short answer
CALC works with several contracted AI providers, including providers of models developed in China. Each request is handled by one provider. If needed, a fallback provider takes over. The models do not communicate with each other. We assess risk based on where data is processed, how long it is kept, contractual safeguards and training terms. A model’s country of origin is not the only factor. Depending on the provider, AI processing may take place outside Europe, including in the United States, Singapore or China.
