The short answer
When you ask Mia for a design check, for example to Eurocode 3, she calculates directly in CALC. If a Skill fits your task, Mia runs it with fixed steps and a traceable calculation. If no Skill fits, Mia calculates without one, just as traceably. She takes standard values such as factors, limits or clause numbers from the Dlubal Knowledge Base, not from memory. Mia only uses RFEM when RFEM is connected and you want to work with an RFEM model.
With or without a Skill
A Skill is a fixed workflow of input, calculation, design check and PDF report. Mia selects it automatically when it matches your task and the family of standards. You can also call a Skill directly.
Without a matching Skill, Mia still calculates the numbers with program code instead of estimating them, and shows inputs, assumptions and the calculation path.
Standard values come from the Knowledge Base, the web only adds to it
For questions about standards, Mia searches the Dlubal Knowledge Base first. This covers clauses, tables, formulas, limits, editions and National Annexes. If she finds no supporting source, she says so openly and does not estimate a value. For important factors, ask for the exact reference and check that the edition and National Annex match your project.
Mia uses web search for information that changes or lies outside the Knowledge Base, such as pricing, product pages and older program versions like RFEM 5 or RSTAB 8. It does not replace a source for a standard. In the chat, the “Web search” setting controls whether Mia never searches, searches when needed or always searches.
When Mia uses RFEM
RFEM comes in when RFEM is connected and you want Mia to create, change or calculate a model. You can write, for example: “Check this beam in RFEM as well.”
If your model already has results, Mia asks before calculating again. She does not silently change your model settings to make a calculation possible.
