The short answer
Click the switch button on the plan you want. An upgrade takes effect immediately: you receive the new monthly allowance and pay only the prorated difference. A downgrade takes effect at the next renewal, so your current balance remains available until then. Purchased top-up credits are unaffected and never expire.
